Cat owners struggle to prevent their cats from jumping onto elevated surfaces, particularly kitchen counters. This brings up concerns about hygiene, food contamination, and potential damage to property.
Engineering Project
Our focus is to design a system to deter animals from jumping on surfaces without mental and physically harm. Existing solutions, such as use of tin foil, physical barriers, or repellent sprays, may be inconvenient for homeowners and have questionable efficacy. Thus, the need arises for a new solution, a non-harmful and efficient deterrent system that can reliably detect the presence of cats on counters and train them to stop.
